Single Use QR Codes

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview:

Single-use QR codes are tied to one specific payment. Once a customer scans the code and completes payment, the QR code automatically expires and cannot be reused. Ideal for call-out fees, one-off services, or custom transactions.

💡 Pro Tip

Single use QR codes are created for one specific transaction. Once the payment is completed, the QR code automatically expires and cannot be used again. Use a single use QR code when you want one customer to pay for a set order (e.g., a $20 service or a specific group of products). These are usually used as back-ups for when the customer is unable to pay via Tap to Pay.

Multi-use QR codes are linked to products or donations that you create in Pebl’s Products section. These QR codes stay active and can be used by multiple customers to complete their own payments. Use a multi-use QR code when you want to collect payments for the same item or cause over time — such as ongoing donations, event registrations, or product sales.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Open the Pebl app to the Activity screen.

  2. Tap the blue + button to begin creating a new payment.

  3. Enter the payment amount or select products from your list.

  4. Tap Other payment options.

  5. Show the QR code to your customer to scan OR Tap Export QR code below to share/print it.

  6. Once paid, the code becomes inactive. The customer will receive a receipt via email.

💡 Pro Tip

When sharing a Pebl QR code, it will be shared as a high-quality PNG image file.

FAQs and Troubleshooting Tips:

What happens if a customer scans the code after it’s already been paid?
The QR code will show as expired and the customer won’t be able to pay again.

Can I reuse a single-use QR code?
No — a new payment must be created to generate a new QR code. To create a multi-use QR code that can be scanned and paid for an unlimited amount of times, follow these instructions.

My customer wants an itemised receipt — what should I do?
Either write a description when creating the payment, or select products from your product list. If neither is done, the receipt will only show the total amount.
